Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa is a new 5-star deluxe all-inclusive resort. It is also a member of the famous “Leading Hotels of the World”

The resort has a strong focus on energy efficiency and environmental preservation. It is also built of materials like Bamboo, natural stone and Langhi Langhi leaves which brings out a perfect harmony of modern design with tropical scenery, which reflects the surrounding environment.

The resort is located on the island Fasmendhoo in The Raa Atoll, in the Northern part of the Maldives. The island is medium sized (by Maldives standard) with the total size if 20 hectares. It has beautiful beaches and a lovely lagoon.

You can reach the resort by 40 minutes by seaplane or alternatively, a 30- minute domestic flight to Ifuru Domestic Airport; followed by a speedboat transfer. If it is your first time in the Maldives, and you are arriving or leaving the resort during the daylight hours, then definitely go for the seaplane transfer if you can afford it.

There are 120 villas in total on the island: 60 overwater villas and 60 on land.

The villas are designed in contemporary-style tropical architecture and interior design solutions. All villas are elegant, yet with a relaxed ambiance and comfortable style. Each villa features two flat satellite TVs, a king size bed, walk-in outdoor showers and a spacious dressing room and walk-in closet.

  • Water Villas with Pool, total area: 184 sqm, pool: 5×3 m
  • Superior Water Villas with Pool, total area: 310 sqm, pool: 8×3 m

The Resort is also a real laboratory and a point of reference for flavors and taste, featuring the international cuisine of the Aqua Restaurant, the Beach Club Grill and its Mediterranean cuisine and two other outlets offering respectively Latin American and Asian cuisine. Natural ingredients are treated with a superior level of creativity in all restaurants, to offer guests a deluxe all-inclusive formula in all outlets.

The resort is also offers several dining outlets. There are five restaurants: International cuisine in the Aqua Restaurant, The Beach Club Grill, The Mediterranean, Amazonico. There are also two cafes, The Sunrise Café and The Sunset Pool Café.

They promise natural ingredients that are treated with a high level of creativity in all restaurants, to offer guests a truly deluxe dine-around all inclusive experience.

There are an increasing number of new resorts in the country, which now offers comprehensive all inclusive. Emerald has joined the race to compete for the customers looking for that. Some people prefer paying the bill in advance, so they can relax without thinking about the final bill in the end of the holiday.

You have the Indian Ocean at your doorstep no matter where you stay at the island, and not everyone needs a pool. However, for some people a nice pool is a “must” when they chosse a resort island. I must admit that the pool area is also very nice:

There is also a close fringing house reef on the South and East side of the island, and a large colorful lagoon on the West and North side.

There seems to be quite a lot of interest in this new resort, and my gut feeling tells me this will be a successful resort. Time will show if I am right or not.. Here are some more photos from the island:
