Baglioni Maldives is a new resort in the 5- star category. Take a look!
Baglioni Maldives is a new resort located on the island Maagau in the Northern part of the Dhaalu Atoll. It can be reached in 40 minutes by seaplane from Velana International Airport. It is a small island with nice beaches surrounded by turquoise water. There are no other resorts in close vicinity; the closest resorts are Aaaveee, St. Regis Vommuli and Sun Aqua Iru Veli.
This is the first resort in the Maldives by the Italian brand Baglioni. It was designed with the renowned Italian attention to detail. Buildings have been built with materials and techniques where sustainability has been in focus.
There are 96 nicely designed villas on the island:
- Garden Villas (87 sqm)
- Beach Villas (87 sqm)
- Family Beach Villas (180 sqm)
- Pool Grand Beach Villas (150 sqm)
- Pool Suite Beach Villas (230 sqm)
- Water Villas (105 sqm)
- Sunset Water Villas (105 sqm)
- Pool Water Villas (105 sqm)
- Presidential Water Villa (670 sqm)
There is a pool bar & grill and three restaurants which serve gourmet dishes. They also have a Kids menu crafted especially for the youngest ones. Wine tastings and personalised private dinners are also offered to the guests.
The pool area looks very nice.
The corals on the house reef are also showing signs of recovery after the global mass bleaching which took place in 2016 (El Nino). Here are some recent photos from the reef.
The island certainly looks beautiful with its nice beaches and dense foliage. Here are some more photos!
Thank you to my friend Michaela at Reiseagentur Reisser for sending me the photos from her trip to Maagau island. It is worth mentioning that I am not paid to make this blog post.
