My dear friends Babs & Phil have just returned from beautiful Veligandu
Babs and Phil are seasoned travellers to the Maldives. They have been to several different resorts every year, in the last 13 years; from 4 stars to 5 stars deluxe, like Shangri-La Vilingili. However, Veligandu seems to have become one of their favourite resorts.
It is not difficult to understand why..

There are also several nice outlets, especially the bars.

Veligandu is a resort in the Crown & Champa group, which also includes the popular resorts Komandoo and Vilamendhoo, Meeru, the newly opened 5-star Hurawalhi (2016) and Kudadoo (which opens this year) are all in the groups portfolio.
Crown and Champa resorts are known for great service and good all inclusive. The only exception might be Kuredu with their tier all inclusive system based on villa category. Though, recently the famous GM from Komandoo (Patrick) has moved to Kuredu, which might lead to changes for Kuredu.
Veligandu is a 4+ resort, and known for its beautiful sandspit. In May 2016 they went adult only, which is great news!!

Veligandu is for sure not a new resort in the Maldives, but have managed to acheive a good reputation by many returning visitors.
The resort added a new water villa category a few years ago, which have become very popular.

A cheaper option is the beach villas

The resort also have a well equipped water sports and a diving centre.
Veligandu has also for years been famous for its flowers all around the island. There are always flowers in bloom.

Veligandu seems like one of the good candidates for a future visit, to review and enjoy. Honestly I am partly responsible for our friends choice this time.
The next photo is an evidence that I should already have been there with my beloved friends.. We have already shared a few holidays in the Maldives with Mrs. & Mr Babs, and no island is the same without them….

We will see if we ever get to Veligandu in the future… …
I have been given permission to use the photos in this blog. Thanks Babs.. Love you..
