Fushifaru in the Lhaviyani atoll is due to open by the end of October! This is a promising resort that has been on my radar for a while. It is located on a tiny and beautiful island in the North East edge of the atoll.
The island is located between two channels, which makes is a good candidate to spot larger sea creatures of the ocean. Three of the most distinctive dive sites which are named after the island, lies in the southern channel.
You can reach Fushifaru in just 35- minutes by seaplane, from Velana international airport (from the seaplane terminals)
The beaches are beautiful, and the island has the inner lagoon on one side, and the open ocean on the other.
Fushifaru is a 5- star entry level resort. Not too bling, neither too rustic; somewhere right in the middle. It seems to be a good place to experience the real Maldives, yet in a luxurious setting.
There are 3 room categories. The beach villas which is the cheapest option, the beach pool villas and the water villas as the top category. There are 49 villas in total; 26 beach villas, 18 beach pool villas and just 5 water villas.
Many resorts are pushing it too far these days, with 40-50 water villas, or even much more. Those resorts are usually not on my list. The fact that there are just 5, makes it even more tempting!

There are 2 restaurants, The Korakali restaurant and the Raakani Grill, and a third option called dine “anywhere”. There is also a bar, Fanihandhi.

The public areas are looking good; there is a fab looking infinity pool with sun loungers, but also several secluded spots, where you can sit on your own and enjoy the silence in paradise.

Like usual in the Maldives, there is also a spa. The Heylhi is the spa on the island.
If you want to get a really secluded spot, Fushifaru has its own sandbank, where you can go for lunch, a dip in the lagoon or just catching sun.
If you are looking for activities in the water, there are many options to choose from: swimming, snorkeling, diving to mention a few. Or maybe you would like to try out some kite surfing?
This resort is a strong candidate for one of my upcoming holidays with a live blog. My next holiday is already booked with another resort, but Fushifaru might be the next one! It will be exciting to see the response and reviews after they have opened.
I have recieved the photos from the resort management, and been given permission to use them on my blog. Thanks!
Good luck with the soon upcoming opening.
