The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo has just opened! It is surely a unique looking resort. Take a Look!

 

 

Located 111 Km north of the capital Male, the resort is located on an 11 Acres island in the South-East corner of the Unesco Biosphere Baa Atoll. You can get there by a 30 minutes scenic seaplane flight from the seaplane terminal at Velana International airport or alternatively by a 20 minutes domestic flight to Dharavandhoo, followed by 10 minutes with speedboat.

Designed by Italian award-winning architects PEIA Associati, the resort offers innovative architecture with organic shapes and interiors built by local materials. It is definitely a unique looking resort.

The Westin Brand is part of the Marriott International group which already has several other resorts in the Maldives, Including W Maldives, St. Regis Vommuli and Sheraton Full Moon.  

The resort boasts a luxury Heavenly Spa by Westin™. Built overwater with a glass floor to enhance the sense of calm the water brings, the spa has a range of treatments to leave guests re-energized and nourished in both mind and body.

 

 

There is also a WestinWorkout Fitness studio and recreation ground for tennis, basketball and volleyball for active guests that like to burn some calories during their holiday.

With a choice of four unique outlets, The Pearl, Island Kitchen, Hawker and Sunset Bar, guests can experience a delightful range of cuisines during their stay.

My guess is that this will be a popular resort in the 5-star segment in the Maldives. The architecture and design is very special and unique in the Maldives. Another really important thing is that the island has a close fringing reef, which will offer easy access snorkelling. An accessible housereef should never be underestimated, as the Maldives is a destination which attracts a lot of snorkelers and divers.
